How to delete an Inventory Item

Deleting inventory items is a useful way to clean up your inventory if you create inventory items for testing purposes or if you've accidentally created more inventory items than you actually have. This will remove them from inventory and the history of usage and check in/outs goes away as well.

Note: If you want to keep the history of the inventory item that you want to remove than you might instead want to mark it out of stock rather than deleting it.

  1. Locate the Inventory Item within Kn{owl}edge
    • If you have a barcode label for the inventory item and a barcode scanner, from the Dashboard simply scan the barcode with your barcode scanner, or
    • If you have a barcode label for the inventory item and do not have a barcode scanner, from the Dashboard you can type the barcode value (displayed below the barcode) into the "Search by Barcode or Name" field and then press the "return" key, or
    • Locate the inventory item manually
      • Navigate to the Inventory Item list page.
        • Click on the "Inventory" link in the header.
        • Then click on the "Items" link in the left sidebar.
      • Click on the Filter button and filter the list to find the inventory item(s) that you want.
